Dr. Karen Sharf’s deep commitment to helping others dates back to 1987, when she first provided recreational therapy to children and adults at Rusk Institute in New York City. Five years later she graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Social Work, and in 2003 she received her Doctorate degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University.
Dr. Sharf is also a Certified Addiction Specialist and has extensive training in art, drama and music therapy.
In addition, Dr. Sharf is a founding board member of the Early Alzheimer’s Foundation, which provides education and recreational therapies to individuals and caregivers who are struggling with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
